I am one of those people that wouldn’t sit with one squad for one week straight. I love to constantly tinker my squad to try all kinda players. I’ve tried Messi, CR7, Mbappe, Son and some icons to name a few. And yet there had been one constant in my squad that I just couldn’t part with, and that's gold Neymar. He had been in my squad since mid-October until I got my hands on POTM Neymar. If I am being honest, I did balk at the price of the SBC first, but then EA released the Shapeshifters promo and it gave me a wonderful window to do the SBC, as the fodder prices came crashing down. I sold a lot of players from my Club. I was still short by 500k. So, I reluctantly sold a gem (mid Cruyff) for another gem (Prime Dalglish).

The throwback from the packs was a massive disappointment. The only player over 84 I packed was Pique 88. I still somehow managed to do the SBC around 1.7-1.8 mil with marginal help of the untradeables from club.

Enough Background. So Neymar POTM! Man O man, where do I begin! First off the POTM performs significantly better than the gold which itself is a God tier card. Gravity is Neymar’s mistress, he floats over the pitch and bangs goalazzos every match! When facing frustrating opponents that use drop back and abuse overload ballside, he creates new dimensions to assist, forget passing lanes! If you have played GTA V, the closest comparison to Neymar POTM is the Oppressor MK II. He is an absolute cheat code.

Pace: 9.5/10. I use hawk chem style on him. Hawk doesn’t make him hit the Pace ceiling but combined with his dribbling he is the Usain bolt of Fifa.

Dribbling: 11/10. A fifa where dribbling is the most meta attribute, Neymar is miles ahead of everyone else. Ok I have not tried Pele 99, but I HAVE tried 95 Maradona and I personally feel Neymar is better. He has his own personal style of dribbling that is unmatched to any other. Trust me, he is THE best in this department!

Shooting: 10/10. Here, You instantly feel the difference from his gold. The gold used to net 8/10 chances while the POTM slots in 9.5/10. Absolute madness! Left, Right, Mid. Just aim and shoot! Goal!

Passing: 9.5/10. In CAM role Neymar has replaced 91 Cruyff. Big boots to fill. I wouldn’t say he is as good as the Dutch magician, but he isn’t far behind either. He makes beautiful passes to Dalglish who is a crazy finisher himself.

Physicality: 7.5/10 I wouldn’t lie, he is weak af. Even with the +5 strength with Hawk he is nowhere close to being alright in that department. So lets agree he will never be The Incredible Hulk. Once you get past it, you can actually use his weakness to your advantage. I would say more often than you’d wanna believe, he has won pens for me and has actually helped me win when it should have been a draw or loss.

Closing Words: There are some cards that don’t perform to their stats or perform in some matches while become invisible in others. Neymar is a different beast, the MVP of my team. He runs the show. He beats a God-tier prime icon for MOTMs game in game out ffs! What else, the 5 star combo is as lethal as you can imagine. His custom rainbow flick is a rage-quit machine! He is the most unique player in Fifa 20. Get him while you still can lads or save for his headliner or TOTY. And for the love of God, if you haven’t tried any of his cards yet, at least try his gold.
